After opening our Malindi Clinic we realised some injuries or diseases need more time to heal, and these animals would benefit from outside spaces. 

In 2021, we found two plots in the Mombasa area with layouts ideal for our needs. We renovated the existing buildings and adapted them for their future use. We installed enclosures that will offer a more ‘animal-friendly’ space to better separate the cats with a variety of infectious diseases, thereby minimizing risks related to over-crowding. 

The clinic is conveniently located – close to the Mombasa roundabout, the airport and the main road leading to Fumba. The new space also offers on-site parking. Having stabilised the Stone Town cat population, we are now starting to expand our service into the suburbs, including the neutering and treatment of street cats and pets. 

We do also have a boarding area for cats and dogs whose owners periodically need to travel away from Zanzibar. The service includes daily feeding, space to exercise, clean sleeping quarters and on-site medical care when necessary.
